“One shop just isn't big enough for all our ideas”

PIET Moodshop Workstore is Christophe Verbeke's new store. Why is there a new Moodshop?

Over the years, we gradually realised that one store was no longer big enough for all our ideas. So we now have both a Homestore and a Workstore, which allows us to develop each concept further. Our ambitions for each store are still the same, however: to provide appealing, surprising and stylish items, which make you happy.

Where do you get the inspiration for your collection?

I get asked that question a lot! Every year I visit various design and interiors fairs both in Belgium and abroad, where I can admire the collections of many different brands. But I gain just as much inspiration from city trips, where I enjoy seeking out great designer stores. And of course I also get inspired by the internet, blogs and Instagram. Here, I often come across things that I like and tie in well with Piet Moodshop.

I also get help from my ‘Moodshop Buyers Club’. This is a group of people who are extremely familiar with my vision and store. I get together with them to evaluate the collection four times a year. I suggest new ideas and products and they are only added to the range if everyone agrees. This helps me to avoid buying the wrong things and ensures that my store only includes items that are guaranteed to be successful.

PIET Moodshop

PIET Moodshop’s Workstore features a quirky selection of designer, stationery and lifestyle items. Unique office gadgets and original urban necessities, either for yourself or to give as gifts.

Part of the range in the first PIET Moodshop has been moved to the workstore, as the store in Sint-Pietersnieuwstraat was getting too small for all our ideas. The workstore has therefore become a separate concept with its own distinctive image and range.

Collection point for all online orders

  • At the back of the store, you will find a special counter where you can collect online orders.
  • Just outside the door (on the Kuiperskaai), there is a loading and unloading zone where you can park for 15 minutes.
  • If you drive into Ghent via the Gent-Centrum exit, it's easy to make a loop past Laurentplein. This will quickly get you back onto the motorway.
